Tjeldstø 16 November 2009 - More crossbills

Highlight today was a Goshawk hønsehauk which ambushed me whilst I was trying to photograph some Common Crossbills grankorsnebb.

A couple of Little Auk alkekonge, Rock Pipit skjærpiplerke and three Whooper Swans sangsvane were among the other sightings.

Cracking parrots !!

Just noticed your mystery warbler from 3rd Sept... That series of pics looks like a garden warbler to me tbh..

The white outer tail feather in that one pic looks like fluffy undertail coverts to me with light coming through the outer fringes of the tail feather. Bill size/structure look ok, beady black eye with a white eyering, overall colouration looks like graden warbler, and you can even see what appears to be a grey neck patch on one of pics...

As for tail pumping.... I don't know ???... and the last pic I can't click to enlarge so I can't really see much on it....
