Back home again and checking out some sites with a view to scouting ahead of the upcoming New Year Bird Race.
The Pinkfoot kortnebbgås remained at Breivik together with its two Greylag grågås friends on both 29 and 30.
At Herdlevær there were lots of Woodcock rugde tracks in the rapidly thawing snow/ice. At least three birds were seen but there were undoubtedly at least double this number present. Several Gannets havsule passed in the few minutes I sat down for a coffee. At least four White-tailed Eagle havørn were also present.
Flocks of Fieldfare gråtrost were a feature with small numbers of Starling stær and Redwing rødvingetrost with them. Brambling bjørkefink also very obvious with small flocks here and there.
