Lovely weather and good migration conditions.
In order to avoid seeing much in the way of birds I spent the majority of the weekend at home.
What was essentially a geology excursion to Herdlevær on Saturday gave the opportunity for half an hour of seawatching - which produced the first Barnacle Geese hvitkinngås of the spring with a flock of 30 heading north. Also around 50 Red-throated Diver smålom and an adult White-billed Diver gulnebblom.
A few Wigeon brunnakke at Tjeldstø were obviously new in and a Goldfinch stillits flew over the garden.
On the Sunday it was a late walk at Tjeldstø but I caught up with an unseasonal Greenshank gluttsnipe that had been seen there the previous day. Nice to see and hear that so many of the spring migrants have now arrived with Wheatear steinskvett and Swallow låvesvale everywhere.
