Hjelme 20 January 2017 - Woodland stuff

Dull and wet but not windy.

No time for anything other than a quick walk along the road at Hjelme, basically woodland habitat. Best bird was a lone Bullfinch dompap which had me going for a bit as it flew over at the same time as a flock of Common Crossbill grankorsnebb. Bullfinch, like yesterday's Dipper, is probably one of the more under recorded species in Øygarden. It's winter status is a scarce but regular - but this may just be because the places it favours are not visited that much by birders.

A Nuthatch spettmeis also here - seem to be quite widespread this winter - something that is not usually the case.
