Common Seal steinkobbe hauled out on the rocks
An early morning trip to Hernar failed to produce much of interest on the island - a party of six Whimbrel småspove and a Lesser Whitethroat møller being the only sightings of near-interest. However, it was good to see plenty of Twite bergirisk and several of this year's Wheatears steinskvett.
The boat trip there and back produced several Black Guillemot teist which have managed to raise at least one young this year. A Common Seal steinkobbe was a bonus sighting on the journey home.
Fishing in the afternoon was quite productive with Ling lange, Haddock hyse, Grey Gunard knurr among the catch. A large falcon, probably a Peregrine vandrefalk passed as I was otherwise engaged.....can't win them all.
