Skogsøy 11 August 2011

Sunny with very light noertherly.

No back to earth experience on returning to Øygarden this time! A couple hours seawatching around dawn did not disappoint.

Highlights were the first Sooty Shearwater grålire of the year and an immature male Two-barred Crossbill båndkorsnebb. Only a light passage of waders (Dunlin myrsnipe, Knot polarsnipe, Oystercatcher tjeld and Golden Plover heilo), small numbers of Greylags grågås and Shelduck gravand.

A couple of Great Skua storjo knocking about too.

A brief look at Herdlevær showed there was some movement with, among other things, a couple of female Blackcaps munk present.
