Skogsøy 03 May 2016 - Lessons learnt

Southerly winds and overcast, clearing nicely by the time I left.

Had a "late" start as it was still raining when I got up - so I didn't start seawatching until 0620. I had my extra waterproofs with me so I didn't need them:) Can't say I was exactly warm but at least I wasn't wet.

Gannet havsule

Still small numbers of Oystercatcher tjeld going through

Red-throated Diver smålom

Two different White-billed Divers gulnebblom, one before the sun came out and one after

All in all a typical early May seawatch with 157 Red-throated Diver smålom, 7 White-billed Diver gulnebblom and three Arctic Skua tyvjo heading north along with the usual selection of seaduck and several Whimbrel småspove.
